Fertility services available

At Newlife IVF, we are committed to best scientific practice supported by the collective experience and expertise of our team. At our Clayton fertility clinic, patients can access a range of fertility services, including:

  • Fertility specialist consultation

If you’re having difficulty conceiving and are considering your options, or if you’re seeking a second opinion regarding your fertility treatment, our team of experienced doctors at our Clayton clinic is here to support you. Our specialists, including Dr Sameer Jatkar, Dr Chris Russell and Dr Nicole Hope, offer consultations to address your fertility concerns and explore the treatment options suited to your specific circumstances.

During your initial appointment, your doctor will review your medical history and investigate the underlying causes of your fertility issues. After conducting a comprehensive fertility assessment, our specialists will suggest the appropriate fertility care, from investigations to treatment, that will increase your chances of falling pregnant. Moreover, our specialists will provide ongoing support throughout your fertility journey.

Note: Newlife IVF’s other doctors consult from our other sites and/or from their private rooms in and around Melbourne. See our online booking page for each doctor’s consulting locations.

  • Fertility nurse appointments

Upon starting your treatment, a fertility nurse will be assigned to be your primary point of contact. Your nurse collaborates closely with your fertility specialist to deliver tailored and individualised care throughout your fertility journey. They will conduct tests and scans, assist your fertility doctor during procedures like egg collection, and keep you informed about each stage of your fertility treatment. Moreover, your nurse will provide you with education to guide you before, during and after your treatment. This includes assistance tracking your cycle, administering your medication, interpreting your test results and planning the next steps of your treatment process.

  • Counselling appointments

Before commencing IVF treatment, all couples and individuals must attend a counselling session. This appointment will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare for your fertility journey. You will gain a deeper understanding of the medical advice provided by your doctor, your rights and responsibilities, legal considerations, and areas of potential stress and challenges that may affect your treatment. Furthermore, our counsellors provide additional support to assist you in managing the emotional and physical difficulties that may arise during your fertility treatment, extending beyond your pre-treatment appointment.

  • Financing appointments

During this appointment, our patient finance manager will offer you a detailed breakdown of the costs associated with IVF and other fertility treatments. They will also explain the private health insurance and Medicare rebates you may be eligible for and outline the payment methods and schedule.

  • Cycle monitoring

To prepare for the egg retrieval process, your fertility nurse or specialist will conduct cycle monitoring to anticipate and identify ovulation. This process entails using ultrasound to examine the development of your follicles, which are sacs filled with fluid that contain your eggs, and assess egg maturation within your ovaries. In addition, blood tests are used to gauge hormonal surges preceding ovulation.
