Dr Alon Talmor: Fertility Specialist | Newlife IVF

Alon qualified as a doctor from the prestigious Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ hospitals in London and obtained his PhD in genetic engineering focusing on fertility. His Obstetrics and Gynaecology training included Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals in London, as well as a Senior House Officer position at King’s College Hospital. In addition, he undertook an extensive IVF clinical fellowship under the UK’s leading fertility specialist Professor Lord Winston at Hammersmith Hospital.

He currently holds a public consultant position at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne and a Senior Lecturer post at the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University.

Most of his Obstetrics and Gynaecology training was completed in Cambridge, and he was the first British-trained doctor to complete his entire Subspecialty in Reproductive Medicine (RCOG UK) in Melbourne – the highest level in fertility training qualification in the UK.

Alon is highly experienced in managing complex and difficult fertility issues in both male and female patients and often treats patients who have been given a poor prognosis or labelled as ‘poor responders’. He is often sought to offer expertise to patients from all over Australia, Asia and beyond. His main fertility interests are broad-ranging, and in his clinical practice, he addresses any areas of fertility concern. These include fertility, miscarriage and male factor issues, to name a few.

Alongside being a fertility specialist, Alon is heavily involved in research and training. He has published numerous scientific papers and book chapters, and is regularly invited to speak at national and international meetings. He presents on a wide variety of topics and offers his expertise in improving safety and success rates for fertility patients.

Education is a strong passion of Alon’s – he is actively involved in teaching, training and examining both medical students and junior colleagues as they progress through their training.

The most important aspect of Alon’s role is to ensure his patients feel cared for and heard. His aim is to give his patients the best possible chance of success. Alon fully understands that struggling to conceive can be an extremely challenging and stressful time. As your doctor, he will dedicate the time to get to know you, ensuring you understand your diagnosis and feel empowered to make informed decisions about a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.
